Costa Rei - Pure Sardinian Beach Life E-mail

Costa Rei is a southeastern beach resort here in Sardinia, founded at the end of seventies by a group of foreign contractors. It has became famous over the years thanks to its stunning sandy beach and sea.

It is more than likely its name originates from the penal colony established during the 19th century, which was the only settlement at that time. Costa Rei translates as "The Guilty's Coast"

It's far away from luxury and a busy nightlife so because of this it's the perfect place for families or those looking for a calmer and more affordable beach holiday. The sandy beach is one of the longer we have in Sardinia (about 8 kilometers). The sea water slopes down gently from the seashore, making this place ideal for small children who can swim and paddle safely. The colors of the water create really impressive contrasts and change from sky blue to dark blue.

The surroundings are characterized by a typical Mediterranean vegetation and a vast countryside. Small farms produce biologic vegetable and fruits, a medium sized fish farming offers good mullet and clams, and a local winery makes a good Cannonau (red wine).

Some sports may be practiced as well such as snorkeling, windsurfing, biking, trekking and of course swimming. Guests desiring to know the local culture may plan self-drive excursions to discover UNESCO protected areas, Nuragic settlements, and the capital city of Sardinia. All that places are reachable in maximum two hours of driving.

We offer in Costa Rei self-catering accommodations which are mostly managed by us or by qualified colleagues but according to our customers requirements.
